But simply proclaiming "it sucks" and then putting up links that may or may not lead to "free alternatives" that may or may not perform the exact same function is tantamount to "looking a gift horse in the mouth," and I was always taught while I was growing up that it's simply RUDE to do that! If you find a defect, I'm sure the developers will welcome your feedback about it so that they can correct it.

As a marketer myself, I certainly don't begrudge their efforts to try to make an honest buck off of their hard work (Before you criticize anything, have YOU ever tried writing code - of ANY kind? I know some of you reading this probably are "code-writers," based on your in-depth analysis of this and other products.

In spite of the number of emails I receive from Ashampoo prompting me to "upgrade" my existing software - or to purchase one of their other (and many) diverse offerings - I quickly grab every item they offer here. Bottom line: Once you tell someone to STOP sending you emails, any emails they send to you AFTER that can - and should - be treated as SPAM and dealt with accordingly. On the same note to people who complain about repeatedly getting "spam" from the same company (Ashampoo seems to be accused of this, and I will admit that their email marketing is pretty aggressive - perhaps TOO aggressive since there seem to be regular complaints here about it): Have you ever tried clicking on the "unsubscribe" link that's always at the bottom of each and every one of those emails? If not, you might want to give it a try! If you've done that and they still send you emails after you've told them to stop, then you still have the ability to "blacklist" that sender, which instructs YOUR email service's servers (or your email client, if you're using POP3 email) to REJECT all emails from that sender. If you don't want to receive email from a company, DON'T FILL OUT THEIR FORM! If that means you won't get their "freebie," then so be it! But DON'T COMPLAIN ABOUT "SPAM" EMAILS FROM PEOPLE THAT YOU GAVE PERMISSION TO SEND YOU EMAIL IN THE FIRST PLACE! Spam is UNSOLICITED email, which means the sender never got permission from you to send you email. It's how they get the money to PAY the developers who create the software that they sometimes give away at no charge!

#38 - ".register for spam" is a contradiction in terms! You should realize that any time you fill out a form on a web page that asks for your email address, you're going to receive email from whoever owns that form, and you can be certain that they're going to try to SELL you something! That's what companies DO.
